Research themes: Eva Kaptijn is an archaeologist of the Near East. Her research focusses on human-landscape interaction with a special interest in landscape archaeology, ancient water management, and the social aspects of subsistence economy. She participated in the excavations of Tell Deir 'Alla, Tell Hammeh, the ed-Dayat/Sawalha excavations (Jordan), Khirbet Bal'ameh (Palestine), and conducted archaeological surveys in the Zerqa Triangle (Jordan) and the territory of ancient Sagalassos (Turkey).
